Gardening and Plants
While by no means do I claim to be a green thumb, I do try my hand at growing plants every year. I am excellent at growing weeds and do ok at growing other things. I attribute my success in the garden not due to my skills but due to the amount of natural animal fertilizer I am able to put into the soil. I clean out my chicken coop, out it goes to the garden, I clean out my rabbit hutches, out it goes to the garden.
One staple that I always grow is pumpkins. I grow pumpkins for many reasons; they are super easy to grow, I love pumpkin seeds, all my animals love to eat pumpkins, and every year I attempt to do some jack o' lantern carving. One of my favorite flowers are Lillies. I have several different varieties of daylily's as well as some Asiatic varieties. I try and fill my flowerbeds with as many lilies as I can. |
