Goats
Our goats are what started this little homestead 8 years ago. My birthday is in the spring and I just couldn't resist asking for a couple of those bouncy little baby goats I kept seeing pictures of. Mya and Remy came home with me in the spring of 2010. People often ask what their purpose is, and I usually make up something like they help mow the lawns, but in all reality they are mostly just used to make me smile. To this day they still like to run, jump, and head butt each other. These guys are probably the funniest creatures out of all my animals to watch as they play in the pasture.
In the future I hope get into Pygora goats. |
HealthOur herd is very healthy. We have never had a health scare.

Happy Goats, Happy HeartAll our goats are free range. They have a barn to call their own and night but during the day they have free range of our pasture. The spend their mornings eating grass and trying to steal the chicken food and spend their afternoons being lazy in the shade of our fruit trees.

FeedAll the goats have access to free range pasture during the day. As a treat they enjoy when I toss them things from the garden or fruit trees. They also have access to minerals. In the winter I supplement them with grass hay.
